Staff Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls

They are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the design and development of control systems for municipal pump stations and water and wastewater facilities.ResponsibilitiesSupport the design of instrumentation and control systems as part of multi-discipline project teamsAssist with the development of process control system designs, including instrumentation layouts and control narrativesSupport the preparation of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control strategiesAssist with network system architecture and design, feasibility studies, and cost estimatesFollow established design standards and procedures to create design documents including project drawings and specificationsConduct field visits and provide field support during construction and startup, with mentorshipCoordinate with project managers, electrical engineers, and designers to support project deliveryCommunicate with clients and internal teams with guidance from senior staffSkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering1–4 years of experience in instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, or control systems (consulting experience preferred but not required)Exposure to water, wastewater, pump stations, or industrial process facilities is a plusInstrumentation systems and specificationsP&IDs and basic control strategiesPLC and/or SCADA systems (coursework, internships, or early professional experience acceptable)AutoCAD (2D)Revit (3D)Microsoft Office SuiteEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtainInterest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the futureBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance401(k)Bonus opportunitiesTuition reimbursementProfessional registration supportCompetitive PTO and holiday planAdditional benefits and programsCompany OverviewFor over 100 years, Kennedy Jenks has provided engineering and scientific solutions for innovative water and environmental projects.
