About the role:

As a Staff Engineer – Cloud Test you will take ownership of test strategy and quality outcomes for Aviatrix cloud networking and security features. You will design and deliver comprehensive test plans, drive automation, and ensure product reliability from feature design through production release.
You will work independently, lead testing efforts for complex features, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to improve system reliability, performance, and release velocity.
Position Responsibilities:

Own test strategy and quality outcomes for features from design through release
Design and implement test plans, test designs, and automation for new and existing features
Improve product reliability, performance, and scalability through early defect detection and risk identification
Build and manage lab environments that simulate real customer networking deployments
Analyze logs, triage issues, and identify root causes of defects
Identify release blockers, evaluate quality risks, and influence release readiness decisions
Prioritize test coverage and manage testing timelines for feature delivery
Analyze customer-reported defects and improve test coverage and tooling
Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to improve product quality
Mentor engineers and contribute to testing best practices across the team

Required Qualifications

6+ years of experience in QA testing in networking/security-focused roles
Strong understanding of network protocols, especially BGP
Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
Expertise in Linux environments and scripting (Python, Shell)
Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude-Code
Proficiency in coding in Golang (preferred)

Experience with:

Kubernetes and microservices architectures
Workflow orchestration
Database systems
Proficiency in various testing techniques:
Functional testing
Performance testing
Stress testing
Security testing
Integration testing
End-to-end testing
API testing
Regression testing
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems
Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record in test automation for SaaS development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

The US annual base salary range for this full-time position is $173,740-$204,400 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity and is bonus eligible. The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, level, experience and relevant education. The range displayed is applicable only for new hires for the listed position located in the US.
