Job Description: We are looking for a Data Engineer in Latam who will work on a variety of tasks to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data from many available sources into usable information for AI implementations. They will also develop and test scalable, automated architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for modeling. The main goal for this Data Engineer position is to remove the barrier between organizations and the insightful dataset, which can be used to evaluate and optimize the business operations through analytics and AI. Responsibilities : Design and build data pipelines from various data sources (databases, APIs, files, streaming) to several destinations (databases, data warehouses, datalakes, lakehouses, Vector Databases), using batch data load strategies, and leveraging cloud technologies. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of business analysts, architects, engineers, and quality engineers to formulate business and technical requirements related to data enablement. Participate in architecture discussions, influence the product roadmap, take ownership and responsibility over new projects, and perform audits to ensure data quality and integrity. Utilize programming languages (most likely Python), databases & cloud data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses. Document database designs that include data models, metadata, ETL specifications, and process flows for business data project integrations. Monitor, maintain, and optimize production systems. Investigate and resolve incidents reported by users. Identify opportunities to automate, consolidate, and simplify data solutions at scale. Define best practices and create coding standards and patterns that can be reused by other data engineers. Qualifications Experience: 10+ years of work experience as a Data Engineer or related. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing using Cloud database technologies. Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing. Coding proficiency in Python . Strong experience in SQL (query proficiency and performance tuning skills). Experience with GitHub and CI/CD processes. Soft skills: Able to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamically changing business environment with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a desire to learn and teach. Excellent understanding of development processes and agile methodologies. Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly. A willingness to get your hands dirty - you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where everyone pitches in to get the job done. Bonus skills: Prior experience with Pipedream is a plus. Prior experience integrating ERP, accounting, and CRM systems is a plus.
