Job Description

Experian Consumer Services is looking for an experienced and collaborative Staff Android Engineer to help evolve our flagship Android native application. You'll contribute to feature development, code quality, and user experience enhancements. This is a fully remote role (US) reporting to a Software Engineering Manager.

You'll have opportunity to:
• App Development:
• Contribute to the development of Experian's flagship Android native application.
• Implement new features and enhance existing ones based on our requirements.
• Code Quality:
• Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code using Java and Kotlin.
• Experience reviewing code to find and address potential issues and defects code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing and continuous integration.
• Collaboration:
• Work with teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to define app specifications and requirements.
• Integrate APIs and third-party libraries to enhance app functionality.
• Problem Solving:
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth app performance.
• Resolve performance and scalability issues.
• User Experience:
• Implement user interfaces that align with design guidelines and provide a consistent user experience.
• Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and latest technologies in the Android ecosystem.
• Improve development practices.
• Leadership:
• Mentor junior developers, encouraging their technical and professional growth.
• Represent the team's work and achievements to senior management and other departments.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, such as Engineering
• 8+ years professional experience in Android development with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex Android applications
• Expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with proficiency in Java, and Android SDK and Android Studio
• Experience working with REST APIs and third-party libraries; GraphQL knowledge
• Experience leading junior developers
