Staff Accountant II

Remote Full-time
The Staff Accountant II ensures the integrity of accounting information by engaging in general ledger closing activities. Including timely and accurate preparation of complex account reconciliations, account analysis, adjustment calculation and preparation of journal entries.

Salary: $65,000-$75,000/year

What you’ll be doing:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
Preparation, review and posting of accurate and timely general ledger account reconciliations

Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger records and reconciliations

Participate in activities related to the month-end closing process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, variance explanations and financial reporting

Prepare schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.

Ensure compliance with accounting policies,

Analyze, prepare and maintain schedules for accounting accruals

Formulate financial analysis and reports

Establish and maintain effective relationships by working cross functionally with other disciplines throughout the company providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reposting accuracy.

Responsible for other ad hoc reports and projects as assigned

Education:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance from a four year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience/Skills Needed:
At least 3-5 years of accounting experience required

Must be detail oriented, and possess great accuracy and organizational skills

Cable and/or telecommunications industry experience preferred

CPA candidate preferred

Audit experience preferred

Ability to work independently

Comfortable working remotely

Computer Skills:
Experience with NetSuite software helpful but not required

High proficiency with MS Excel and analysis/problem solving capabilities

Ability to effectively navigate financial software, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Order Processing, Inventory

Overall understanding of how each accounting process (i.e. G/L, A/R, A/P) impacts the others
