Staff Accountant (Hybrid - Norwalk, CT)

ReedPop is a global leader in events and exhibitions, and they are seeking a Staff Accountant to advance their accounting career. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and supporting period-end close activities among other financial responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post timely and accurate journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPerform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policiesRecord and review credit card processing activity across various payment platforms, ensuring all transactions, fees, and settlements are captured and reconciled accuratelyDeposit cash / checks received in Norwalk officeMonitor, maintain, and reconcile intercompany account with RELX parent ensuring balances align and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptlySupport internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and pulling documentation as requestedCollaborate, as needed, with cross‑functional departments, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and FP&A teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial informationCoordinate with Finance Managers / Banks for onsite cash requirements at each show as well as program verifones needed to process onsite credit card transactionsTravel to ReedPop shows as needed to handle onsite payment activity / reconciliationsParticipate in ad hoc analyses, reporting, and special projects as assignedSkillsHave a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with at least 1 year of experience in accounting functionBe proficient in Microsoft ExcelPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detailCompany OverviewReedPop is the largest producer of pop culture events in the world.
