Staff Accountant - General Ledger

The Staff Accountant will support accounting and analysis related to leases, fixed assets, and general ledger areas, while maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close activities, and producing financial reports. Responsibilities Prepare and record transactions related to fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers Prepare daily and monthly journal entries, ensuring accurate account balances and compliance with GAAP Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve discrepancies Prepare rent calculations and complete lease‑related accounting procedures in accordance with ASC 842, including CPI adjustments Communicate regularly with landlords, regional managers, and internal departments to support lease and asset‑related activities Account for foreign leases in accordance with ASC 842 and enter required data into CoStar Review accounts payable invoices coded to capital assets to ensure proper classification Assist with sublease accounting and preparation of landlord tenant improvement allowance invoices, as needed Support other month‑end close, project‑based accounting activities, and system implementations as required Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting Internship experience to two years of relevant accounting experience Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications Experience with Workday and CoStar Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance Long-term and short-term disability insurance Company Overview Bright Horizons provides education and child care to fit the way people learn, live and work today.
