Staff Accountant
Hearst Magazines is one of the largest publishers in the world, and they are seeking a Staff Accountant to support their financial operations. The role involves preparing journal entries, managing intercompany transactions, and producing financial reports while collaborating with internal stakeholders and supporting audit processes. Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations Manage intercompany transactions, including invoicing and communication across entities Analyze and interpret accounting reports from service organizations and partners Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting-related questions and issues Support internal and external audit processes, including annual audit preparation Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of financial information and records Identify opportunities for process improvements, particularly through automation Produce daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports (e.g., cash, accounts receivable) Skills 0+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including debits/credits, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow Proficiency in Excel; experience with Smart View is a plus Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and legal documents Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships across teams and levels Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off, including vacation, sick time, and holidays Professional development and growth opportunities Access to wellness programs and employee resources Company Overview Hearst Magazines is a Media Production house.
