Staff Accountant

Kobalt Music is a company that champions creators and is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join their Finance team in New York. The role involves supporting the accuracy and transparency of financial reporting and operational processes, including month-end close activities and reconciliations. Responsibilities Support the month-end close process for the Corporate business unit, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of key deliverables Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies Partner with teams such as FP&A and P&C to support accurate reporting of operating expenses Support statutory reporting and audit requirements for overseas subsidiaries, working with external partners where required Assist with group audit requirements, ensuring supporting documentation and workpapers are complete and organised Support the administration of travel and expense systems (Concur and CWT) and the US credit card program Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and supporting solutions Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial information Skills 1–3 years' experience in accounting or a similar finance role Understanding of accrual-based accounting principles Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or similar) A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Experience in a medium-sized, fast-paced accounting environment Familiarity with NetSuite Progress toward a professional qualification (CPA or equivalent) Company Overview Kobalt is one of the world’s largest, most innovative music companies, using technology to power creative freedom, transparency, ownership and control for artists, songwriters, publishers, and labels.
