Staff Accountant

Kodiak Building Partners is a growing company seeking a Staff Accountant to support various accounting processes. The role involves general ledger reconciliations, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with company policies while contributing to monthly and year-end close processes.ResponsibilitiesGeneral ledger reconciliations, specifically cash and fixed assets along with others, for multiple subsidiariesPrepare, record and review journal entries and compile supporting documentation during the normal course of businessExecute the daily tracking and balancing of working capital sub-ledgers to general ledgerPerform tasks as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reportingInterpret financial data and information and perform necessary research to provide accurate informationMonitor compliance with company policies and proceduresComplete ad hoc projects, tasks, and reports when requiredSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or related field requiredStrong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessaryMust be detail oriented, and technically mindedAbility to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasksStrong research and reconciliation skills requiredWork requires professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skillsCustomer focused (i.e., generating accurate and timely results and effectively and timely communicating to customers, colleagues, and management)Desire to lead new process creation and implementation0-2 years of accounting experience preferredRelevant industry experience considered a plus: Manufacturing/Distribution/ConstructionTeam playerSelf-motivatedStrong ability to problem solveDedicated and committed individualCompany OverviewKodiak Building Partners is a building materials distribution platform that acquires local and regional construction supply companies.
