Staff Accountant

Life Tech is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, focusing on general ledger reconciliations, expense analysis, and fixed asset management. Responsibilities Perform accurate monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts (cash, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, etc.) Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly Analyze reconciling items, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, amortizations, reclassifications, and intercompany activity Properly code and enter auto-paid vendor invoices and credit card transactions, ensuring correct approvals and timely processing Conduct expense fluctuation and variance analysis versus budget/forecast; communicate findings to management Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including acquisitions, transfers, dispositions, and roll-forwards Calculate and record depreciation and amortization monthly Coordinate with operations and purchasing teams to assign asset tag numbers and support periodic physical inventory counts Assist in monthly and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors with documentation and explanations Ensure compliance with GAAP in all financial activities Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 1–3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience Strong attention to detail and high accuracy standards Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with cross-functional teams Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and the Microsoft Office Suite Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle Healthcare or DME industry experience is a significant plus Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Company Overview Life Tech provides home respiratory equipment and services.
