Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will contribute to the month-end close process, ensure compliance with GAAP, and assist with various accounting functions while supporting business objectives.ResponsibilitiesContribute to month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial data is in compliance with GAAPReview monthly financial statements of multiple entities to ensure completeness and accuracyPrepare month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedulesResearch variances in key account balances and explain variances between actuals and budgetAssist with shared service accounting functions including general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, intercompany, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, etcLearn and assist in training and implementation of our ERP systemEnsure compliance with established company policies and procedures and incorporate procedural improvements to optimize efficiencyCreate ad-hoc financial reports and data analysis as required to support business objectivesAssist with annual financial and internal control auditsProvide on-going support to various business partnersSkillsBachelor's degree in finance or accounting with minimum of 1 year of applicable experienceIn-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesStrong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office, especially ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCPA candidate highly preferredPublic accounting audit experience preferredWorking knowledge of fully integrated ERP systemsBenefitsHealth insurance – Medical, Dental, and Vision3 weeks PTO plus sick days, paid holidays, and floating holidays401K retirement plan with company matchAnnual reward bonus structure planGenerous employee discountHybrid work schedule - 2 or 3 days in-officeCompany OverviewCalifornia Closets is a Home Decor company.
