Staff Accountant

Fora Financial is a technology-enabled leading provider of flexible financing to small and medium sized businesses. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage daily journal entries, cash reconciliations, and assist with monthly close and audits while collaborating with various teams to improve accounting processes.ResponsibilitiesPrepare, post, and analyze a high volume of daily journal entries/business transactions across multiple entitiesPrepare daily cash reconciliations and operational summaries for management reviewHandle heavy banking transactions dailyAdhere to time sensitive tasks such as banking deadlines and internal deadlinesAssist with monthly close and annual auditsWork closely with customer service, collections, servicing, and external partners to accurately process transactionsIdentify and implement process improvements across the accounting functionAP support -including setting up new vendors in the GL, distributing invoices to department heads for review and approval, and ensuring timely and accurate paymentPerform research on GAAP and other accounting standardsSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting1-4 years of accounting work experienceUnderstanding of GAAP principles and policiesUnderstanding of Accounts receivables in Finance/ banking industryExceptional thoroughness and attention to detail especially when working with large data setsAbility to work in fast paced, heavy data entry environmentIntermediate Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)Focus on efficiency and automationStrong time management skillsAbility to work within a team concept and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organizationProfessional demeanor and attitudeExperience with cloud-based general ledgers (Intacct) and the ability to learn the internal proprietary transaction systemFlexible hours (specifically around month end and different regulatory reporting deadlines)Financial industry background experience is a plusBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision Coverage401K Plan with Company MatchLife Insurance at No Cost to EmployeesGenerous Time Off Plan Including Rollover Vacation DaysCommuter BenefitsHealth Care and Dependent Care Flexible SpendingHybrid working modelFree breakfast, snacks, and weekly lunch in the officeCompany OverviewFora Financial provides flexible financing to small and medium-sized businesses to sustain and grow their enterprise.
