Staff Accountant
Mimecast is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our North America Finance Team reporting to the Manager – Accounting. We are looking for someone with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong accounting and analytical capabilities and outstanding communication skills.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide day to day accounting operations support to North American region.
• Prepare journal entries and assist in month-end close responsibilities.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations with adequate levels of documentation and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts with a focus on cash, fixed assets and pre-paid expenses.
• Monitor accrual balances and coordinate with business to ensure accruals are adequate.
• Ensure that all intercompany activity is recorded timely and balances are properly eliminated in consolidation.
• Prepare and provide additional analyses for internal management.
• Prepare and review schedules in support of external audit requirements.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with and maintenance of appropriate internal controls.
• Act as a finance business partner in providing information and support to other departments of the company.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Work on other ad-hoc projects as deemed necessary in a changing environment.
What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experienced in month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Advanced skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with Netsuite a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
• Trustworthy and diligent with a high level of integrity.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments; flexible and supportive to team members and other departments.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently and as a strong team player.
The US base salary range for this position is $64,000 - $96,000 base + bonus + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus, and other related benefits.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
