Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will ensure the integrity of financial data while supporting day-to-day operations in the Finance department, focusing on accounts payable, cash management, and month-end reporting.ResponsibilitiesVerify, code, and process vendor invoices and employee expenses with high accuracy in the ERP systemPrepare weekly and ad-hoc vendor payment runs; ensure all cash disbursements are accurately applied against outstanding liabilitiesPerform regular vendor statement reconciliation to ensure ledger accuracyAct as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving billing and payment discrepancies in a timely mannerMonitor daily bank activities and apply cash receipts against client billings, commission receivable, and other inflowsPrepare comprehensive monthly bank reconciliation to ensure alignment between bank statements and the general ledgerSupport Venue Sourcing team in monitoring of hotel commission receipts and facilitate timely subsequent disbursement to clientsPrepare and record month-end accruals and adjustments as directed by the Assistant Controller and Senior AccountantPerform balance sheet reconciliations and conduct month-to-month variation analysis to identify and explain fluctuationsSupport the Assistant Controller in the preparation and review of regional financial statementsSupport the supplier onboarding process and maintain integrity within the SAP vendor master dataAssist in monitoring of finance-related inboxes, provide troubleshooting support for Concur Expense and Concur Invoice, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepanciesAssist in managing banking platform access and user permissionBuild strong relationships with Event Delivery, Client Services, and FP&A to provide seamless financial supportSupport the Assistant Controller in annual financial audits, and assist with external regulatory filings as requiredRaise and escalate potential concerns and successes to the Assistant Controller and leadership regularlyHandle ad hoc requests from the business as and when requiredSkillsExperiences of using enterprise-level accounting software and finance tools, such as SAP, Oracle, and Concur is highly desirableStrong foundation in GAAP with ability to apply matching principles and accrual accounting correctlyUnderstanding of account payable lifecycle, including vendor master data management, 3-way matching, and strategic payment term optimizationStrong attention to detail, ensuring the highest level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentationAbility to analyze financial data and perform key balance sheet reconciliationsUnderstanding of relevant tax regulations and compliance requirements, including sales & use taxHigh level of proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of advanced functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) to manipulate and analyze large datasetsBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision, which includes the option of a high deductible health plan (HDHP) with a health savings account (HSA)401 (k)Five Flexible Spending Accounts OptionsGenerous Paid Time Off AllowanceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Life, Disability & Pet CoveragesWellness StipendMobile Phone AllowanceComplimentary access to Headspace, Teladoc, Maven, Rocket Lawyer, Mobilo & moreAura Identity Theft ProtectionDiscretionary Bonus StructureGlobal Opportunities: With a presence in 7 countries worldwide, including headquarters in London, New York, and Singapore, you may have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across different locations.Company OverviewFIRST provides world-class event delivery, creative development and technical production for a wide range of clients.
