Staff Accountant
We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant for a long standing retail client in the downtown Manhattan market! The staff accountant will be part of our dynamic team, interacting closely with accounts payable and processing high-volume transactions for our expanding number of stores across the US and Canada. Responsibilities:? Handle processing of accounts payable payments for our growing number of stores across the US and Canada? Maintain meticulous records of high-volume transactions? Utilize Excel as the reporting tool and Microsoft 365 for various tasks? Manage month-end tasks including preparing bank reconciliations and journal entries? Assist in setting up new stores, including setting up change orders with the bank and requesting merchant IDs with American Express? Monitor and take appropriate action on customer accounts? Aid in balance sheet reconciliations, but not financial statement reporting? Maintain an organized work schedule with a hybrid model, including in-office for the first full week of the month and during training? Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of customer credit applications.
