Sr. Tax Preparer

Individual applicants residing in the US only About the role As a Senior Tax Preparer at Uplinq, you will lead the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and nonprofits. You’ll work closely with leadership, mentor junior staff, and help improve tax processes. This role is great for a seasoned tax pro who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment. What you'll do Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and nonprofits. Conduct tax research and planning to identify opportunities that minimize client tax liabilities. Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement internal tax policies, quality control procedures, and ensure compliance. Coordinate with bookkeeping and accounting teams to ensure alignment of financial data used in tax returns. Review financial records, income statements, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations. Review junior staff work and provide mentorship on complex tax matters. Qualifications Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification. Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Tax preferred 6+ years of experience in tax preparation and review.
