We have an immediate opening for the position of Application & Services Engineer for Edwards Life Safety and Emergency Communication/Incident Management equipment. This position provides factory assistance and services to our customers.
This role is preferably based in the Bradenton FL office but residence anywhere in the continental US is acceptable. This position will include periodic travel primarily throughout the continental US.
About the role
This position involves providing services to our customers regarding the application, installation, maintenance and upgrade of Edwardsâs products and related other products. Customers can be our distributors who are trained on our equipment or end users ranging from small commercial businesses to global corporations with an emphasis on large-scale systems for this position.
Key Responsibilities
⢠Working with our sales team and our customers on their needs to determine the best solutions and create bill of materials, system configuration and programming concepts for life safety and other projects.
⢠Assisting with project throughout the specifications, design, layout, and management of installations to meet end-user specifications and requirements either remotely or at the project site.
Provide services using Edwardsâ software including but not limited to:
⢠FireWorks project creation and management.
⢠Edwardsâ fire system configuration software product â 4-CU, 3-SDU, and iO-CU.
⢠Create designs using Modulaser air sampling layout and design software.
⢠Create designs using Xtralis air sampling layout and design software.
⢠Custom spreadsheets creation and use for system design calculations.
⢠Provide services using other software including FireCad and/or AutoCAD, EASE Sound Modeling software and others.
⢠Provide evaluation of existing system to determine functionality and upgrade paths.
⢠Provide project management service during installations, renovations and upgrades.
⢠Documenting and diagraming technical details, report summaries and other business correspondence.
⢠Approximate maximum of 30% travel on an annual basis
Required Qualifications
⢠High School diploma or GED
⢠8+ years of experience in life safety/fire design, servicing equipment, or project management
⢠Valid Driverâs License
Preferred Qualifications
⢠Bachelorâs Degree
⢠Experience with products from Edwards or Kidde
⢠Focus on technical aspects of the life safety industry including fire alarm systems, air sampling systems and smoke control systems. Other low voltage system experience may be suitable, depending on the evaluation of skills
