The Role We’re not just looking for a Head of Design; we’re looking for a visionary partner to guide the creation of a category-defining product. You will be responsible for turning bold, complex ideas into an intuitive and effective user experience that creates tangible business outcomes. This is a highly strategic, hands-on “player-coach” role: you will shape the UX strategy, design vision, nurture the team, and personally craft the product that will define the future of learning. What you will do Develop the Vision: Create and execute a UX strategy and design vision aimed at solving complex educational problems in new and insightful ways. Create Business Impact: Directly influence key business metrics (e.g., engagement, retention, conversion) through design. You will advocate for your ideas using the language of data and business goals. Foster a Culture of Learning: Build and maintain a culture of rapid prototyping and iteration, enabling the team to quickly test hypotheses and learn together . Guide and Build Hands-On: Oversee all aspects of design, from research and UX architecture to the final UI and design system. You will both guide the function and personally create key parts of the user experience. Nurture the Team: Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class team of designers and researchers as we scale. Requirements Has proven experience in a senior design role within a digital product-driven company. Has a strong, diverse portfolio showcasing your work across B2C and B2B, on both Web and Mobile platforms. You know how to design for different audiences and contexts. Thinks in metrics and speaks the language of business , with a track record of tying design decisions to business growth. Is a “player-coach” at heart — equally comfortable setting high-level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to craft pixels in Figma. Has hands-on experience or a deep appreciation for Design Engineering, valuing technical feasibility and fostering a strong, collaborative partnership with developers. Must have C1 or C2 spoken and written english fluency. Huge Plus If You Have Founder experience or have worked at a startup in its earliest stages. Expertise or a genuine passion for education and EdTech. Western Europe based candidates are preferred, but not required.
