POSITION SUMMARY
A senior-level Mechanical Engineer responsible for directing and coordinating the discipline technical effort on small to large heavy industrial projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ā In a supervisory capacity, develops, coordinates and directs a number of small projects or one project of major scope and importance.
Ā Reviews and upgrades budgets and schedules.
Ā Assists the Chief Mechanical Engineer in planning manpower requirements.
Ā Assists the Chief Mechanical Engineer with the development of budgets and deliverables list on proposals.
Ā Promotes and ensures inter-discipline communication at all levels.
Ā Uses and promotes the use of existing design data to standardize design efforts from one job to the next.
Ā Performs other duties as directed by the Chief Mechanical Engineer.
DIRECTION RECEIVED
Ā Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and project limitations.
DIRECTION OF OTHERS
Ā Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of up to 25 engineers and designers on a project.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ā Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and 10 years experience.
Ā Professional Engineer registration is recommended.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL
Ā Sr. Engineer IV Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and at least 10 years experience. Professional Engineering License is preferred.
Ā Sr. Engineer III Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and at least 12 years experience. Professional Engineering License is preferred.
Ā Sr. Engineer II Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and at least 14 years experience. Professional Engineering (PE) License is required. A minimum of 16 years relevant experience may be substituted for a PE license.
Ā Sr. Engineer I - Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent and at least 15 years experience. Professional Engineering (PE) License is required. A minimum of 17 years relevant experience may be substituted for a PE license.
