Sr Engineering Support Specialist

Basic Qualifications : Requires a Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Showing initiative and exercising judgement, you’ll design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot and provide technical skills during research and/or product development, analyze effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources and design systems, software and equipment layout. Participating on the engineering work team, you’ll develop, implement, install, test, modify and/or operate complex equipment and systems as well as support other team members concerning experiment design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance and related issues. Key Responsibilities Track, manage, and reconcile software licenses, entitlements, subscriptions, and renewals to optimize utilization Maintain accurate software inventory records in SAM tools (e.g., Maximo/Teams) Support compliance audits and remediation activities to improve the organization's software compliance Generate timely reports on software usage, compliance trends, and optimization opportunities Manage software request processes and provide effective support to internal stakeholders Assist with procurement activities, including vendor communications, quote requests, and creation of engineering instructions (EI) for purchase order processing Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and program teams for efficient software lifecycle management Facilitate stakeholder meetings and deliver presentations on SAM initiatives Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in Software Asset Management or related roles Experience with software license models and compliance management Proficiency with Microsoft suite, generative AI and data management tools Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Self-motivated with ability to prioritize work according to business needs Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field Prior experience in IT procurement processes Understanding of software publisher licensing agreements (e.g., Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware) Expected Outcomes Improved software compliance posture and audit readiness Streamlined software management processes supporting organizational efficiency Accurate, timely software inventory and reporting Optimized software license utilization and cost management What you’ll experience: Technologies that aren’t just top-notch, they’re often top-secret A team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what’s next Opportunities to gain new knowledge - as it’s discovered What you bring to the table: A Bachelor’s of Science or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree Demonstrate narrowly focused in-depth technical level of practical operational process knowledge in a specific engineering area Demonstrate technical competence in the setup, monitoring and documentation of experiments and/or lab equipment What sets you apart: Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task Commitment to ongoing professional development Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
