About the position
The Sr. Director, Brokerage Business Lead at SoFi is responsible for overseeing and driving the brokerage business, leading a cross-functional team to enhance product adoption, manage risk, and ensure operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of SoFi's brokerage offerings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering partnerships to deliver exceptional investing experiences to customers.
Responsibilities
Ā Manage monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables for Invest's Active Invest business

Ā Manage the prioritization of Product and Engineering deliverables that deliver against our economic, operational, and risk management goals
,
Ā Work with a full cross-functional team to set and execute on a member-focused vision and strategy for SoFi's brokerage products and business
,
Ā Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure strong responses and engagement with brokerage regulators
,
Ā Lead and chair key brokerage committees such as Best Execution and Best Interests and Conflicts
,
Ā Rigorously understand and improve brokerage economics and product usage, brokerage operations, clearing, margin, options and operational workflows
,
Ā Collaborate closely with vendors in their support of the product delivery and trading lifecycles, and in managing business risk and economics
,
Ā Keep a pulse on industry trends and competitor actions to ensure SoFi is winning on the market
,
Ā Continuously explore new strategies and leverage innovative technologies to deliver compelling and differentiated investing experiences to customers
Requirements
Ā Bachelor's degree and MBA, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Engineering
,
Ā 12+ years of experience in online brokerage, wealth management, online investing, or a closely related business
,
Ā Demonstrated experience in developing and launching best-in-class, online investment products and services
,
Ā Deep familiarity with regulatory requirements and responsibilities
,
Ā Demonstrated track record of delivering business growth and hitting OKRs
,
Ā Strong focus on product development, risk management, and operations
,
Ā Deep passion for fixing issues, digging into member pain points, and relentlessly driving for a measurably better member experience
,
Ā Proven ability to execute via successful external partnerships, and experience evaluating vendor offerings, conducting build-buy-partner analysis, negotiating contracts, integrating, and managing relationships
,
Ā Ability to operate cross-functionally, leading and influencing colleagues over whom you have no direct authority
,
Ā Strong people manager with experience building and leading high-performing and engaged teams
,
Ā Licensing required (e.g., Series 7, 24, 99) - current licenses are preferred but this requirement can be fulfilled post-onboarding
