About the Role: As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead and execute multiple controls projects across their full lifecycle — from concept and componentselection through programming, commissioning, and customer handoff. You’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable, and innovative automation systems for high-profile material handling customers. Read on.In this role, you will: Lead controls design and implementation activities for material handling systemsElectrical Design,field device placement, control panel layouts and generate electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLANSelect components, design networks, develop BOMs, and validate equipmentProgram PLCs and develop SCADA/HMI solutionsCommission and debug systems on-site; support testing and validationConduct field troubleshooting and provide technical support during installationEnsure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and to customer satisfactionContribute to the development and maintenance of controls standards and reusable code librariesLead or support RD initiatives and internal projects to enhance controls capabilitiesCollaborate with key vendors to evaluate and implement emerging technologiesIdentify opportunities to value engineer designs without compromising performanceServe as a senior member on multi-disciplinary project teams (PMs, Mechanical, Field, etc.)Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the Controls teamParticipate in Controls team initiatives, process development, and tool creationSupport recruiting efforts and provide feedback on technology/software vendorsMaintain open, timely communication with project teams and leadershipRepresent DCS with professionalism during site visits, customer meetings, and supplier interactionsContribute to a positive, team-oriented culture that emphasizes growth and accountabilityAttend weekly controls meetings and internal training sessionsWe’re Excited About You Because: You have 10+ years of relevant experience (or 14+ years without a degree), ideally in the material handling industryYou have advanced PLC and HMI/SCADA programming skillsYour knowledge of network communication architectures and protocolsYou’re confident designing control panels and selecting componentsYou’re mechanically inclined and comfortable in both design and field environmentsYou’re resourceful, independent, and love solving hard problemsYou are proactive, collaborative, and passionate about continual improvementYou’re flexible and can manage multiple fast-paced projects at onceYou’re an excellent communicator — written and verbalYou’re willing and able to travel up to 50% as neededAbout Us: Conveyor may be in our name, but it’s only part of what we do.
