Overview
We are a growing professional services startup operating across two entities—one in the U.S. and one in Peru—and are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations and help build scalable financial processes from the ground up. This role is ideal for a proactive, process-minded accounting professional who thrives in startup environments, is comfortable with ambiguity, and takes pride in building clean, reliable books.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Bookkeeping Ownership
uF0B7 Own day-to-day bookkeeping operations in QuickBooks Online
uF0B7 Perform and review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
uF0B7 Maintain a clean and accurate general ledger
uF0B7 Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
uF0B7 Support a timely and consistent month-end close
Accounts Payable & Receivable – Process Design
uF0B7 Design and implement AP workflows, including bill intake, approvals, and payment processes
uF0B7 Build and manage AR and customer invoicing processes for services-based revenue
uF0B7 Monitor AR aging and support collections follow-up
uF0B7 Establish documentation standards and audit trails
Accrual & Services Accounting
uF0B7 Independently manage accrual accounting for services revenue and expenses
uF0B7 Ensure accurate period cutoff and consistency across entities
Intercompany & International Accounting
uF0B7 Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between U.S. and Peru entities
uF0B7 Maintain due-to / due-from balances and ensure entities stay in sync
uF0B7 Support multi-currency considerations and coordination across teams
Process Building & Documentation
uF0B7 Develop, document, and improve accounting processes in a low-process environment
uF0B7 Create repeatable month-end close checklists and procedures
Qualifications
uF0B7 Required - 3–5+ years of bookkeeping or senior accounting experience
uF0B7 Strong experience in professional services accounting
uF0B7 Solid understanding of accrual accounting principles
uF0B7 Demonstrated experience building or improving accounting processes
uF0B7 Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
uF0B7 High ownership mindset with strong judgment
uF0B7 Excellent organization and communication skills
Nice to Have
uF0B7 Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience International or cross-border accounting exposure
uF0B7 Experience supporting startups or scaling businesses
uF0B7 Quickbooks ProAdvisor Certification
uF0B7 Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
