Location: 100% Remote

Pay: $30.00 / Hourly

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Overview:

We are expanding our Tier 3 backend support team to prepare for a significant increase in customer testing activity this fall. We are hiring a Data Analyst who will focus on investigating, troubleshooting, and correcting complex data issues within large relational databases.

This role sits between development and customer support. You will not interact directly with customers but will work closely with developers and Tier 1–2 support teams to determine root cause and implement data fixes efficiently and accurately.

This is not a DBA role and not a traditional programming role. It is ideal for someone who thrives in data investigation, understands relational systems deeply, and enjoys solving complex data problems independently.

Key Responsibilities:

· Investigate and debug data issues reported through customer testing and internal support channels

· Perform root cause analysis of data anomalies and integrity issues

· Create, modify, and execute SQL and PL/SQL scripts to cleanse, correct, and update data

· Collaborate with development teams to identify whether data issues stem from code defects or process gaps

· Write SQL queries to scan large datasets for validation, audits, and reporting

· Support data movement activities including loading, reloading, and correcting customer data

· Maintain high standards of documentation and communication while working remotely

Primary Accountability Breakdown:

· Debugging customer-reported data issues 30%

· Creating/modifying data cleansing scripts 30%

· Partnering with developers on root cause analysis 20%

· Writing queries for data scans and reports 10%

· Other data-related support activities 10%

Required Technical Experience:

(Candidates will not be considered without the following)

· Hands-on experience with large SQL database platforms

· Strong Oracle PL/SQL experience

· Deep understanding of relational database concepts (joins, normalization, ERDs, query types)

· Experience debugging data issues reported by customers or internal users

· Ability to write and maintain scripts for data correction and cleansing

· Experience working with developers to trace data issues back to code-level root causes

· Ability to write efficient SQL queries for data analysis and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

· Exposure to or experience with MS .NET environments

· Bachelor’s degree

· Experience supporting production systems in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 support mode

· Additional experience in systems management, product development, or project-based environments

· Relevant certifications a plus

Skills & Competencies:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently in a remote environment

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Quick learner with the ability to understand complex data models rapidly

· Efficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under time-sensitive conditions

Education & Experience Required:

· 3+ years working with large databases through scripting, data management, or data analysis

· Strong knowledge of at least one major database platform (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)

· Experience using database tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys finding and fixing data problems, understands relational systems deeply, and can work autonomously while partnering closely with engineering and support teams. It is high-impact, problem-driven, and critical to scaling customer testing successfully.
