Sports Performance Analyst, Data Science

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sports Performance Analyst to join their cutting-edge team. This fully remote position offers the unique opportunity to leverage data science and analytics to enhance athletic performance, optimize training strategies, and contribute to competitive success. You will work closely with athletes, coaches, and support staff to interpret complex data sets, identify key insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, and analyze large volumes of sports performance data from various sources (e.g., GPS tracking, video analysis, physiological monitoring). Develop and implement statistical models and algorithms to identify performance trends, predict outcomes, and evaluate training effectiveness. Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to coaches, athletes, and management. Collaborate with coaching staff to understand their needs and provide data-driven insights to inform training and game-day strategies. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop systems for monitoring athlete progress and well-being. Research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies for sports performance analysis. Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in sports science and data analytics. Contribute to a culture of data-informed decision-making within the organization. Maintain the integrity and security of all performance data. Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
This is a fully remote role, enabling you to work from any location within the US. Our client is dedicated to providing a flexible and dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data science, statistics, or a related quantitative field, with a demonstrated passion for sports. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) are essential. Familiarity with sports-specific data sources and analysis techniques is highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required to effectively translate complex data into actionable insights for a diverse audience. The role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US , but is fully remote.
