Specialty Testing Customer Service Support Rep-Work from home
Labcorp Specialty Testing team has an exciting career opportunity for a Customer Service Support Representative. This fast-paced work-from-home position is part of a dedicated team responsible for providing assistance to patients and clients to better understand health insurance coverage, cost and payment options and to answer billing questions over the phone.Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to work in a high call volume environment, averaging ~75 calls per day from patients, doctor’s offices and/or private insurance carriersAbility to research and communicate complex information in a clear/concise mannerAbility to navigate and work in multiple systems/websites simultaneously. Provide assistance to prospective clients and patients, regarding any questions or inquiries related to insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and/or billing (telephone interactions)Receive and process credit card payments over the phone, adhering to PCI compliance protocolsInitiate payment plans for patients for outstanding balancesDocument telephone conversations clearly and accurately in the respective systemsUpdate and maintain records in the billing system, including the review of accounts, payment collections and case notesMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulationsAssist with other duties as assignedLicense/Certification/Education:Recommended:High school diploma requiredAssociate degree or higher is a plus1-3 years of applicable experienceCompetencies:Healthcare experience neededKnowledge of professional medical billing and collection practices preferredAbility to interpret and apply understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB)Working knowledge of prior authorization, a plusExperience with Laboratory Billing and Laboratory Information System (LIS) desiredXIFIN experience preferredMedicare/Medicaid billing experience preferredKnowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes highly preferredPrevious customer service experience handling high call volume preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to follow established program protocols and proceduresComputer proficiency - MS Windows, MS Office, and database experienceMust be organized and detail-orientedAbility to review large amounts of data for accuracyUnderstanding of Women’s Health & Genetics Moms Helping Moms of Tomorrow processes, a plusBilingual in English and Spanish highly desirablePhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerRemote Technical Requirements:Internet speed of at least 50 megabytes per secondNo satellite internetAbility to connect equipment to router/modem with Ethernet cordEquipment cannot be connected through Wi-FiAbility to work the following schedule: Monday-Friday7:30am - 4:00pm PST / 8:30am-5:00pm MTN/ 9:30-6:00pm CST/ 10:30am – 7:00pm ESTPay Range: $15.50-$19.00 or State/Local minimum wage, if higher.
