Key Responsibilities: Instructional Support: Assist the classroom teacher in providing instruction, serving as a tutor when needed, and helping establish a learning environment by working with students on specific activities. Lesson Delivery: Conduct teacher-prepared lessons with small groups of students, reinforcing learning and providing individualized support. Classroom Management: Supervise students in non-instructional activities, implement behavior management plans, and assist the teacher with crises and behavior management. Student Engagement: Establish positive working relationships with students, provide feedback and reinforcement on their performance, and help students with make-up work when necessary. Collaboration and Communication: Maintain a professional relationship with staff and students, communicate effectively with teachers and other support staff, and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment. Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Hold a current Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator; two years (or 60 semester hours) of post-secondary study preferred. Background: Background in Special Education preferred; bilingual (English-Spanish) candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Skills and Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. What We Offer: Competitive Compensation: Starting wage is $17.50-$19.25/hour based on education and verified experience.
