Project Summary
Lionbridge is seeking self-starting freelance Over-the-Phone Interpreters for ongoing interpretation projects across industries such as Legal, Healthcare, and Government. Over-the-Phone Interpreters for Lionbridge are responsible for handling calls on-demand to correctly identify and provide meaning in conversations between speakers of two different languages.
What You Will Do
Accept and take ownership of on-demand incoming calls and conversations, providing two-way interpretations.
Identify the meaning of conversations across two different language types while remaining current, courteous, and professional on sensitive subjects across differing cultures and locations.
Receive projects typically presented in the form of three-way calls, lasting roughly 10-30 minutes each during regular U.S. business hours.
Receive training in industry terminology as well as common procedures and practices and apply this knowledge in your role while on calls.
To Be Successful You Will Have
Advanced abilities in Spanish and English (spoken).
Exceptional memory retention, note-taking, and communication skills in the appropriate language(s).
The ability to complete and pass a language assessment in the languages you will be assigned to.
Prior experience in Interpretation or Language Services is a plus, but not required.
