Solutions Engineer

The OpportunityWe’re looking for a Solutions Engineer to join the ModernFi team and help onboard financial institutions to our platform. This role sits on the Engineering team and works across functions to ensure every client has a seamless and delightful technical onboarding experience. You’ll set up infrastructure, configure integrations, communicate with partners, and build tooling to make the process better for everyone involved.This is a great opportunity for someone with a technical background who loves being client-facing. You’ll work directly with banks and credit unions, translate requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and take the lead on key projects that unlock revenue and drive client success. You’ll also help shape how ModernFi scales onboarding as we grow.We believe in hiring smart, curious people and giving them real ownership. You’ll work closely with our product and engineering teams, attend daily standups, and contribute to our culture of quality, autonomy, and fast execution.ResponsibilitiesLead technical onboarding of new institutions to the ModernFi platform — from account setup to configuration, testing, and go-liveManage infrastructure setup for clients, including provisioning SFTP servers and keypairs with PulumiCollaborate with bank IT teams to configure SSO in Auth0 based on their identity providersCoordinate onboarding for third-party digital banking integrations like Q2, serving as the glue between ModernFi, the client, and the partnerOwn and improve our public API documentation — making it easier for clients to integrate and showcasing our engineering-first approachBuild tooling, dashboards, or internal features (using Python, Retool, etc.) that make your work more efficient and scalableOptimize our self-service onboarding tool by partnering with our CS team to intake client feedback and provide product suggestions or own immediate fixesTranslate between technical and non-technical audiences with empathy and clarityAbout YouEngineering background, with a CS degree or equivalent experienceComfortable working with code and infrastructure — you may not write production services day to day, but you can spin up an SFTP server, tweak a Python script, or make a SQL queryExcellent communicator who can guide clients through technical setup and translate their needs to the engineering teamExcited by the idea of improving the customer experience through a mix of software, process, and gritCollaborative and fun to work with — you bring positive energy to the teamExperience with tools like AWS, Auth0, Pulumi, Python, PostgreSQL, or Retool is a plus but not requiredAbout UsThe caliber and character of the ModernFi team set us apart.We value competence and drive over experience and seek compassionate people with diverse backgrounds.
