Job Overview
Are you a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual passionate about customized solar? We're looking for a Contracted Solar Design Technician I to join our team for a 90-day contract with the potential to transition to a full-time role. This position is open to remote or semi-remote candidates.

This role is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally and gain valuable experience to back NABCEP, project management, and other credentials.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in drafting comprehensive solar system designs, collaborating with clients and partners, and ensuring timely project delivery. This role reports directly to the Company Project Manager.

Responsibilities
• Draft full solar system designs, including electrical schematics, panel layouts, racking systems, and other necessary components, adhering to industry standards and local codes.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of supporting design documents.
• Communicate directly with clients to understand their energy needs, site specificities, and design preferences.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to procure necessary plan sets, permitting documents, and other project-related information.
• Deliver completed solar design plans to end customers within established timeframes.
• Maintain accurate and organized project information within our internal database.
• Support the Project Manager in various design-related tasks as needed.

Experience
• Solar Installation: Ideally experience in the field with installation.
• Solar Design Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in solar design software such as AutoCAD, Helioscope, Aurora Solar, PVsyst, or similar platforms.
• Technical Drawing & CAD Skills: Strong ability to create and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
• NABCEP Certification: Ideal but not required.
