Software Engineering Manager (Go, Java, and/or JavaScript)
About the position
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale high-performing software teams building secure, scalable financial infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring strong architectural judgment and a passion for developing engineering talent. You will oversee the full lifecycle of engineering execution — from design and development to deployment and operational excellence. The position demands experience delivering production-grade systems in fast-paced environments, ideally within fintech or blockchain ecosystems. You will work cross-functionally with product, operations, and executive stakeholders to align engineering efforts with company strategy. Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day engineering team activities including sprint planning, grooming, scrums, and retrospectives
• Provide architectural and technical direction across APIs, services, user-facing applications, and core systems
• Design, build, and deploy secure and scalable backend services
• Introduce and maintain best-in-class agile software development practices
• Align engineering roadmaps with business objectives and product release schedules
• Manage full team lifecycle: hiring, mentoring, performance management, and leadership development
• Act as a key liaison between engineering and cross-functional stakeholders
• Oversee technical debt management and ensure sustainable development velocity
• Contribute to broader engineering leadership initiatives
Requirements
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of technical leadership or engineering management experience
• 3+ years of hands-on coding experience in Go, Java, and/or JavaScript
• Proven experience designing and deploying secure, scalable systems
• Strong architectural and systems thinking
• Experience leading agile engineering teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage distributed or remote teams
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in fintech, payments, or blockchain ecosystems
• Passion for coaching and building future leaders
• Experience operating in high-autonomy, fast-paced environments
