Software Engineer, Intern (Summer 2026)

Responsibilities You will own a project end-to-end, from initial design, to prototype, to large-scale rollout Design and implement backend models and API endpoints for complex scientific workflows Build and operate rich frontend components and visualizations Design and build a platform framework or infrastructure tool for other Benchling engineers to use Skills Current enrollment in a BS/MS degree in computer science and/or STEM fields with an expected graduation date between Dec 2026 and Summer 2027 A prior software engineering internship or similar experience Strong abilities in problem solving and iterating on feedback A desire to have ownership over building key pieces of product and/or platform Passion for learning about life science Company Overview Benchling is an IT company that provides a cloud-based software platform for biology researchers and research and development organizations.
