Job Overview

A software engineer is part of the software development team that creates software solutions for AEVEX. This person applies engineering principles and knowledge of programming languages to build these software solutions. This is an entry-level position, ideal for recent college graduates.

Essential Functions
Ā• Contribute during the entire software development process including requirements, design, implementation, test, debugging and deployment.
Ā• Develop Embedded Linux, Windows PC and microcontroller software applications using C, C++, and occasionally other programming languages.
Ā• Deploy and maintain software on Embedded Linux and Microsoft Windows PC based platforms.
Ā• Expand the capabilities of our software products by developing new features and Integrating data from hardware such as GPS/GNSS, LiDAR and Accelerometers.
Ā• Rapidly build and deploy moderately complex mobile applications leveraging Location Services, Maps, and other common Android/IOS libraries.
Ā• Manage coded components and design elements of a front-end design system in terms of versioning, technology, and requirements.
Ā• Be able to work creatively through and around perceived limitations to build fast and simplified user experiences.
Ā• Collaborate with other software developers, product owner/manager, and stakeholders to deliver creative and tailored custom solutions.
Ā• Ensure that design supports the client's goals and requirements and be willing to make adjustments to exceed expectations.
Ā• Assist in creating a vision for, and communicating creative solutions for a wide variety of user experience challenges (graphic creation/development, wireframes etc.)
Ā• Facilitate discussions on design and user experience and communicate clearly and effectively.
Ā• Stay up to date with the latest design trends and best practices.
Ā• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
Ā• Ability to grow your professional skills and learn from challenges
Ā• Possess good organization and problem-solving skills
Ā• Hands on Embedded programming experience in college projects, internships, or industry.
Ā• Knowledge of Linux, Linux programming or Embedded Linux concepts.
Ā• Knowledge of software development using Microsoft Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
Ā• Familiarity with Autopilot systems, ground control stations, or flight simulation software is highly desirable.

Education / Certifications
Ā• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field required.

Experience
Ā• 0-3 years software development experience (additional experience from Internships or Industry welcomed)
Ā• Experience in the development of embedded systems utilizing platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and other microcontrollers.

Security Clearance
