The Software Engineer I will work collaboratively to define technical solutions, write well-designed code, and participate in the design, development, and testing of applications. Responsibilities Work with colleagues and technical resources to define technical solutions that meet business requirements Writes well-designed, testable code Participates in the design, development, testing, and debugging of an application Troubleshoots and ensures timely and effective resolutions of any project issue Participates in code reviews, both of your own code and as a reviewer Provides feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement Conducts technical research on new technology for possible new aspects of a product or components needing redesign or updating Prepares product documentation, support materials, and internal documentation Shares what they know by reaching out to other team members Other duties as assigned Skills Experience in developing enterprise or commercial applications using C# and .Net Proficient in popular coding languages and frameworks such as React Knowledge of the software development life cycle Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies Effective communicator (written and verbal) Problem solver with strong analytical and critical thinking skills An innate curiosity about how things work; Proactively acquires new skills and learns new tools and technologies to troubleshoot issues Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team Adaptable and works best in a fast-paced, work environment Understanding of design patterns Working Knowledge with Web Applications and programming languages such as React, C#, Web Services, .Net, AWS / Cloud, API's Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS) Experience integrating with a variety of relational and NoSQL databases Experience with content management system Experience with insurance industry Company Overview Vertafore offers software and essential information to address business challenges within the insurance industry.
