Software Engineer
The position
We are searching for a high-calibre Software Engineer to join our Durability Centre of Excellence, the role will be based in Poland working remotely with an international team based in India, Europe, UK and US.
We are seeking a Software Engineer to scale AI platform capabilities within HBK.

This role will be responsible for building the foundational infrastructure, frameworks, and integration patterns required to enable AI-driven features (e.g. agentic workflows, data-driven insights) and ensure these capabilities can be reused and scaled across multiple HBK products.

Primary responsibilities
In this role you will be working on:

AI Platform Development
Design and implement core AI platform capabilities, including:
LLM integration and orchestration

Prompt management and evaluation frameworks

AI workflow / agent orchestration (e.g. agentic capabilities)

Establish reusable patterns and services for AI feature development

Software Product Enablement
Deliver AI-driven capabilities within HBK software products (e.g. insights generation, automation, agent-based workflows)

Enable scalable interaction with large data sets and engineering models

Reduce time-to-market for AI features by providing shared infrastructure

Common LLM Framework
Define and build Common and Reuseable LLM Frameworks

Ensure consistent approach to:
Model integration (cloud/on-prem where relevant)

Security, governance, and compliance

Cost and performance management

Integration & API Strategy
Define standardised APIs and service interfaces for AI capabilities

Integrate AI services with existing product architecture (desktop, cloud, hybrid)

Support alignment with broader API-first strategy

Productisation of AI
Move AI capabilities from prototype β†’ production

Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of AI features

Implement monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management for models and workflows

Professional qualifications and experience
Excellent college or university degree (master's/diploma/doctorate) in Computer Science or equivalent, demonstrating excellent analytical and conceptual skills / mindset.

Strong software engineering background (backend or full stack) in scalable systems

Experience working with LLMs / AI frameworks and integrating them into applications

Knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based architectures

Experience designing reusable platform services or frameworks

Understanding of data pipelines and large-scale data processing

Experience with productisation of AI/ML solutions (monitoring, evaluation, cost control)

Familiarity with engineering/scientific software or data-intensive domains advantageous

Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows.

Experience with cross-platform development (Windows and Linux).

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Experience working in SAFE, Agile, and / or Scrum teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Personal skills
Highly flexible, accountable and takes ownership.

A team player with the ability to work in matrix organisations.
