Software Engineer 5 - Growth Foundations

When you join the Growth Foundations team, you’re joining the team that sets the technical strategy and vision for the commerce platform that powers a 400 billion dollar company. Our teams mission is to empower teams to build and experiment with commerce experiences. We own and develop the tooling and infrastructure for the Growth UI Platform that powers growth and commerce UI for all of Netflix. The nature of a platform team means we wear many hats. From developer experience to tooling to support, engineers on Growth Foundations are experienced multifaceted operators skilled in a variety of disciplines all the way from the top of the UI stack to the bottom infrastructure layer.
The Role
As a member of Growth Foundations, you'll focus on and develop Netflix's internal SDUI framework powering a wide array of consumer experiences such as member sign up, ads templates, account management, and more. You'll work across our stack collaborating with UI and backend engineers building a 0 to 1 framework that enables accelerated UI experimentation while reducing risk and safeguarding privacy. You'll architect, design, and implement a scalable TypeScript and GraphQL based API system that enables a seamless developer experience for engineers building on our web, TV, Android, and iOS clients.
Along with solving complex engineering problems, you will lead projects and help set a long-term vision and technical strategy for the broader Netflix commerce platform with a focus on scale and interoperability with the other systems.
Skills & Qualifications
• 6+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping software
• Proven ability to lead projects and communicate with cross-functional partners
• Proficient with GraphQL and general API development and consumption
• Able to design, architect, debug, test, and create well-documented code
• Able to identify and componentize common abstractions with an eye for performance and stability of large-scale systems
• Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, and NodeJS

Location & Culture
GXF is a US-based team and our general working hours are 10am - 4pm Pacific time. This is a US-based remote-friendly role. For those outside the Bay Area who wish to work from our engineering headquarters in Los Gatos, California, we provide a generous relocation assistance package.
