Software Development Intern

They are seeking a Software Development Intern to support the maintenance and development of their proprietary software, Calian ResponseReady™, working alongside both technical and non-technical teams to build new features and capabilities. Responsibilities Evaluate software requirements and create innovative functionalities Develop, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and dependable code Optimize applications for performance, quality, and responsiveness Identify and resolve performance, usability and scalability issues Document application changes and development updates Develop product-related information packages, brochures, and other technical documents; and Act as a resource to the Senior Director, Product Manager, and Project Managers in support of developing business opportunities and proposals Skills Must be currently enrolled in a University Degree program within a relevant discipline Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS Experience with React ecosystem and frameworks such as Next.js Experience with Node.js ecosystem and frameworks such as Express.js Ability to build modern, clean, and responsive user interfaces, and knowledge of best practices in UI design Familiarity with REST APIs and back-end services Ability to understand and write technical documentation Must be eligible for a reliability-level government security clearance Experience with building iOS and Android applications using React Native Experience with large language models (GPT) and APIs such as OpenAI Platform Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and ORM libraries (Prisma.js) Experience with cloud-based services and platforms (AWS) Understanding of version control systems (Git) and platforms (GitLab) Familiarity with PHP-based applications and frameworks (CodeIgniter, WordPress) Experience and proficiency in writing technical documents Ability to think independently and provide insight and solutions to complex problems Benefits Flexible hours, on-site, hybrid, or work from home options depending on the role requirements.
