About the position

The SLP Therapist Reviewer Sr is responsible for reviewing medical records, particularly complex cases, to assess the medical necessity of therapy service requests. This role involves applying professional therapy knowledge, adhering to government regulations, and ensuring compliance with medical policies to facilitate authorization requests while meeting operational goals and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Ā• Review medical records to determine the medical necessity of therapy service requests.

Ā• Apply knowledge of therapy, government regulations, and medical policies to make authorization determinations.

Ā• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and requirements through ongoing review of current policies.
,
Ā• Document findings, develop analyses, and submit reports in accordance with government regulations.
,
Ā• Research and obtain additional data, consulting with clinical reviewers and medical directors as necessary.
,
Ā• Act as a resource for internal and external customers.
,
Ā• Participate in or lead intradepartmental teams, projects, and initiatives.
,
Ā• Maintain quality and productivity standards, ensuring reviews are conducted within required timeframes.

Requirements
Ā• Graduate of a college-level program in speech language pathology.
,
Ā• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience or equivalent education and experience.
,
Ā• Current active unrestricted license as a speech language pathologist in the applicable state.
,
Ā• Licensure appropriate to field of specialty as required.
