SKU & Barcode Specialist Needed to Standardize Product SKUs and Generate GTIN Barcodes
Description:We’re looking for an experienced eCommerce or inventory management specialist to help us streamline and unify our product catalog across multiple sales platforms. The job involves standardizing our SKU numbers and generating GTIN barcodes (UPC/EAN) for all our products.Responsibilities:Audit and assess existing SKUs across all platforms (e.g. Squarespace, QuickBooks Online, ShipStation, GS1, Square, etc.)Advise on existing SKU naming convention for consistency and scalableRename and unify SKUs where necessary to eliminate duplicates or inconsistenciesEdit existing GTIN barcodes. Create and assign GTINs (UPC or EAN barcodes) to each productEnsure all platforms are updated with the correct SKU and GTIN informationProvide documentation for the new SKU structure and GTIN assignmentsRequirements:Proven experience in product catalog management, inventory systems, or eCommerce operationsFamiliarity with GTINs, UPCs, EANs, and barcode generation standardsExperience working with GS1, SquareSpace and/or other eCommerce platformsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to provide clean, structured deliverables and communicate effectivelyPreferred Qualifications:Experience with inventory management softwareUnderstanding of GS1 registration and barcode complianceAbility to automate parts of the process using spreadsheets or scriptsDeliverables:Unified SKU list across all platformsGTIN barcode list (with image files, if applicable)Documentation of naming conventions and update procedures
