We are looking to hire an extraordinary Site Reliability Engineering Manager, where you will be leading a world class SRE team that owns the foundational infrastructure that the company depends on for our production and customer facing services.

What you will do
• Provide leadership to SRE team, acting as a player/coach
• Create growth plans for all team members, helping people grow and progress their careers
• Own the infrastructure services that serve production and customer traffic
• Aim to reduce toil on every opportunity
• Be the escalation contact for critical infrastructure incidents, coordinating their resolution
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Ensure long-term team health
• Develop and own roadmap for long term service growth

What you will bring
• Strong engineering-related management experience - with emphasis on leading an SRE/DevOps function in a fast paced technology environment
• Able scope/estimate large projects, see problems and drive solutions
• Strong understanding of either Agile or Kanban to drive team backlogs
• Strong technical background, heavily focused around application architectures
• Must be able to quickly understand the current platform architecture and be able to discuss & deliberate the merits of new platform changes from the SRE lens to ensure future platforms are scalable and reliable.
• Good experience of large scale and distributed infrastructure
• Vonage has a large and complex, micro-service based architecture, built by teams across the globe. Any candidate must be able to build strong professional relationships with peers to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Understanding of cloud platforms and related technologies
• Vonage is a cloud first company and we maintain our platform in several cloud providers. You need to have a deep understanding of cloud technologies and an understanding of how to implement “Cloud Native” architectures.
• Proven track record of owning and delivering highly impactful engineering projects, from conception to completion
Skills you will possess
• Strong technical knowledge in AWS, GCP or Azure (AWS preferred)
• Strong technical knowledge and experience running a Kubernetes based environment
• Experience with a higher level programming languages (Python, Go or Ruby preferred)
• Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure as code (Ansible, Chef or Puppet)
• Strong technical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins & Codepipeline)
• Strong technical knowledge of monitoring platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Graphite, etc)
• Strong technical knowledge of log analysis (ELK Stack)
