Shopify & SEO Manager (B2B Building Materials | Remote, Contract)
Role Overview
We are a B2B building materials company selling directly to contractors.
This role is responsible for owning our Shopify store as a system, not just optimizing pages.
You will manage store structure, collections, and product organization while using SEO as a lever to support discoverability and conversion — not as an isolated service.
This is not a content-only SEO role and not a design role.
What You’ll Own
• Shopify store structure and organization
• Collections and category logic for a large product catalog
• Product page clarity (variants, specs, naming consistency)
• SEO foundations (technical, on-page, internal linking)
• Balancing search visibility with fast, practical buying behavior
• Ongoing store health (speed, crawlability, usability)
You will be expected to make decisions, not just follow instructions.
What This Role Is Not
• Not blog-focused SEO
• Not agency reporting work
• Not “audit and hand off” consulting
• Not influencer or brand marketing
This role owns outcomes, not deliverables.
Ideal Background
• Hands-on Shopify experience managing real stores
• Experience working with large catalogs and structured products
• Strong understanding of SEO and conversion tradeoffs
• Comfortable prioritizing based on business impact
• Experience with B2B or contractor-focused businesses is a strong plus
English Requirement
Strong written English required.
You should be comfortable writing clear, professional product and site content without heavy editing.
Compensation
• Contract-based, hourly or monthly (based on experience and scope)
• Performance-based bonuses available tied to measurable outcomes
