Shopify Developer (Claude Code Native) — Ship Custom Themes in a Day | Trial → Full-Time
WonderMe (wonderme.com) makes personalized AI portrait canvases and blankets — gifts people actually cry over. We're scaling fast and our biggest bottleneck is shipping speed on the storefront.
We're looking for a Shopify developer who builds at a different tempo than the rest of the market. Not "fast for an agency." Fast like: Figma in the morning, theme live by end of day. The reason that's possible now is Claude Code — and we want someone who has already rewired their workflow around it, not someone who's "open to trying it."
This starts as a paid trial project. If you're the operator we think you are, it becomes ongoing or full-time within 2–3 weeks.
What you'll do
Build full custom Shopify themes from Figma → live store (not Dawn reskins — actual ground-up builds)
Own performance: Core Web Vitals in the green, every build, no exceptions
Ship sections, components, and conversion experiments on a near-daily cadence
Work directly with our founder and designer — no PMs, no tickets, no Jira theater
Must-haves (do not apply without these)
Proven Claude Code proficiency. You have a CLAUDE.md you've iterated on. You know what subagents are for. You don't paste code back and forth into a chat window.
Shopify Liquid + theme architecture mastery. Sections, blocks, metaobjects, theme settings, app blocks — fluent, not Googling.
Performance obsession. You can talk LCP, CLS, INP without a cheat sheet. You know why Shopify's image CDN params matter.
Strong taste. You've seen good DTC sites and bad ones and can tell the difference instantly.
Nice-to-haves:
Hydrogen / headless experience
Klaviyo, Judge.me, Rebuy, common DTC stack integrations
Past work with print-on-demand or personalized product flows (our fulfillment is non-trivial)
Rate & engagement
$25–50/hr depending on what you bring (lean toward the top of that band if your screening submission is strong)
Trial project: 1–2 weeks, paid hourly
If it works: ongoing contract or full-time, your call
Bonuses for fast and accurate work.

Live Shopify store links you've built or substantially customized. Tell us which parts are yours.
Your CLAUDE.md (or equivalent context/workflow setup). Paste it, gist it, however. We want to see how you've configured your environment.
Confirm you're available for a paid 2-hour micro-task as the final step — you'll build one section to a Figma spec. Paid regardless of outcome.
