Shipping Supervisor – Amazon Store

Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Reports to: Shipping Manager Job Summary: The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for organizing and overseeing a team of employees, ensuring that products are properly loaded and unloaded, and ensuring that shipments are ready for distribution. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Oversees and evaluates all activities of the Warehouse and Warehouse employees, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight. Monitors freight movement using various computer software applications. Consults with customer service team and third-party logistics groups to set up carriers for shipments. Consults with planning and scheduling team to confirm inventory adjustments. Drafts and distributes driver schedules; coordinates schedule with Logistics Manager. Assesses efficiency and performance of dispatch and distribution activities; identifies and recommends improvements to shift, department, and facility. Ensures product handling and delivery practices meet customer expectations, and daily, weekly, monthly, and annual business objectives. Preparing shipping documents prior to pick ups for both domestic and international. Performs other related duties as assigned. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of truck freight rates. Strong understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices. Hazmat Certified under DOT, IATA, and IMDG Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records and inventory. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Prolonged periods standing and up to four hours per shift sitting and working on a computer. Must be able to traverse facility on unforgiving surfaces. Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises and odors.
