Server| Part Time
STATEMENT OF JOB:
The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Policies/Procedures/Administration
Ā Maintain a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures
Ā Understands basic kitchen equipment operation (food processor, dishwasher, beverage machine, etc.)
Ā Maintain a clean work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room
Ā Understands proper table setting for each meal
Residents:
Ā Assists residents when placing orders from the menu
Ā Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea)
Ā Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
Ā Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
Ā Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques
Ā Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
Ā Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques
Ā Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
Ā Attends required in-services and staff meetings
Ā Completes all other duties assigned
Ā Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.)
Ā Assists with tray service
Ā Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
Ā Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors

Ā Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Ā Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
Ā Must be able to read and follow simple instructions
Ā Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
Ā Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
Ā Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
Ā Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects
Ā Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time
Ā Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
Ā Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members
Ā Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
