Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic SEO Assistant to support our SEO team across client and internal projects. This freelance, remote role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of SEO and a strong desire to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You’ll work closely with our core SEO team and gain hands-on experience across a range of organic marketing strategies—from keyword research and content optimization to audit support and reporting. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills while contributing to meaningful results.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with keyword research and competitor analysis
Support on-page SEO tasks including metadata, headings, and internal linking
Help prepare SEO audits and performance reports
Upload and optimize content using WordPress, Shopify or other CMS platforms
Conduct backlink research and audit or approve link building efforts
Google Search Console audit fixes performed on live websites
Help with onboarding new SEO accounts
Fix broken links, 301 redirects, and other SEO related issues
Properly load images, renaming, cropping, alt and title text
Organize SEO files, notes, and documentation for internal use
Track ranking and traffic metrics via tools like Agency Analytics, Google Search Console and Ahrefs
Google Business Profile improvements for local businesses
Yext account listing management
Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on SEO experience (freelance, internship, or coursework welcome)
Basic understanding of SEO best practices and tools (Google Analytics, GSC, Ahrefs, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
Comfortable using Google Sheets, Docs, and task management tools
Excellent written communication skills
Eagerness to learn and take initiative
Familiarity with content writing or editing
Knowledge of technical SEO basics (e.g., site speed, indexing, schema)
Experience using platforms like Trello, ClickUp, or Asana
