Position Summary

The Senior WordPress Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and maintaining responsive WordPress websites. This role requires strong experience in WordPress development, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, theme and plugin customization, website security, troubleshooting, and version control.

The ideal candidate should be highly technical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently on complex website builds, enhancements, maintenance, and issue resolution.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Holidays: Philippine Holidays

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive websites using WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Customize WordPress themes and plugins based on business and client requirements

• Create, update, and maintain website content through WordPress CMS

• Develop clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code

• Build and maintain custom functionality using PHP and other relevant web technologies

• Collaborate with internal team members to ensure proper integration of website design, functionality, and content

• Manage code changes using version control systems such as Git or SVN

• Test, debug, and optimize code to ensure websites function as intended

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to website development, functionality, performance, and maintenance

• Ensure websites follow security best practices and are protected against common web vulnerabilities

• Maintain website quality, performance, responsiveness, and usability across different devices and browsers

• Support ongoing website enhancements, updates, migrations, and maintenance activities

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a WordPress Developer, WordPress Specialist, Web Developer, or similar role, with strong hands-on experience in building, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites

• Strong hands-on experience in WordPress development

• Advanced experience customizing WordPress themes and plugins

• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience developing responsive and mobile-friendly websites

• Experience working with WordPress CMS, custom post types, page builders, plugins, and theme frameworks

• Strong understanding of website security best practices

• Experience using version control tools such as Git or SVN

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to write clean, organized, maintainable, and well-documented code

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple development tasks with minimal supervision

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Python, Ruby, or other server-side programming languages

• Experience with website speed optimization and performance tuning

• Experience with website migration, hosting environments, cPanel, DNS, SSL, and basic server management

• Experience with SEO fundamentals and technical SEO best practices

• Experience working in an agency, outsourcing, or client service environment
