About the Role We're seeking a talented Senior Women's Swimwear Designer to lead the design of our women's swimwear collections, ensuring they resonate with our guests and align with Target's commitment to sustainability. You'll work closely with our Design Director and Senior Designer to develop seasonal collections that reflect global and domestic trends, leveraging your expertise in design tools like Illustrator to bring concepts to life. Key Responsibilities Develop seasonal swimwear collections based on global trends, ensuring alignment with Target's sustainability initiatives and brand aesthetic. Collaborate with the Design Director to manage the design process and calendar, ensuring timely execution and product delivery. Research and select materials and finishes for product development, staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements. Create detailed sketches for product direction using Illustrator, effectively communicating design intent to cross-functional teams. Partner with Merchandising to maintain style counts according to line plans, ensuring commercial viability and product success. Address product issues in collaboration with technical designers and sourcing partners, driving problem-solving and resolution. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A four-year degree in Design or a related field, with a strong foundation in design principles and practices. 5+ years of design experience in womenswear, preferably in swimwear, with a proven track record of creating successful collections. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD, with the ability to leverage these tools to drive design innovation. A strong understanding of fabric and garment construction, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive product development. Innovative problem-solving and creative design abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic design environment, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
