Senior UX Designer
Thought Pennies Entertainment is a Role-Playing Game studio creating games focused on emotional storytelling. We celebrate diverse experiences and backgrounds as well as a passionate, hands-on, technically savvy approach to game development. We are fully remote.
RPGs are the boss monster of all UX projects and the Senior UX Designer brings systemic design thinking and marries it with creativity and a deep empathy for our players. They are a critical role and instrumental in concepting and executing both the UX, communication, and clear flows across the game and individual screens and features.
This role requires an understanding of modern control input methods across PC and console. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in systemic design solutions, experience in Unreal, and a passion for the CRPG space.
What you do:
Work closely with the Design department to advocate for a consistent, clear, and joyful experience across the game and featuresWork closely with the UX/UI Design Lead, and Game Director to execute, implement and ideate the UI according to our UX systems and platform needsAdvocate for our players in all that you do, including conducting and running research (both internally and externally as needed)Create and maintain documentation and guidelines for our UX design systemsCreate and maintain documentation on tools, methods, and trainingContribute to a studio culture committed to craft, collaboration, and efficiency Value schedule and logistics, and partner with the production team members to execute development goals
What you bring:
4+ years experience in game development creating usable, efficient, and systemic UX and product designThoughtful consideration for different types of input methods and screen sizesGreat knowledge in modern UX/UI, across both games and other applicationsA working knowledge of CRPG game conventions and previous titlesDetail-oriented problem-solving ability, with a service-oriented mentality, backed by strong communication skillsWillingness to give and receive feedback

Prior experience with Unreal EnginePrior experience in developing and documenting design systemsInterest or experience in visual design and animation
