If you want to build the future of healthcare, we'd love for you to join us.We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our small, dynamic team, focusing on level-funded and fully insured health insurance quotes for both small and large groups. The ideal candidate will have experience working as an underwriter or related field and have a solid understanding of rate setting and analytical skills. Experience with assessing risk using prospective risk models is preferred. This role involves direct collaboration with the sales team to ensure accurate and competitive quotes for clients. Our team utilizes a proprietary in-house platform to streamline the quoting process, making it faster and more efficient than traditional underwriting methods.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and analyze level-funded and fully insured quotes for small and large groups.Interpret and work with various quote documents such as experience reports, large claims data, billing information, and rate details.Assess and underwrite risks, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and policies.Utilize prospective risk scores to evaluate potential risks and make informed underwriting decisions.Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide accurate and competitive quotes, supporting their efforts to secure new business and retain existing clients.Utilize our proprietary in-house platform to enhance quoting efficiency and accuracy.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in underwriting.Qualifications:4+ years of experience working as risk assessment (underwriter, data analyst, actuarial analyst).Strong ability to read and interpret quote documents, including experience reports, large claims, billing, and rate information.Experience with assessing risk using prospective risk scores.Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially with sales teams.Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in underwriting and rate build-up processes.Education:Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, insurance, or a related field is required.About UsBacked by a team of world class investors, we are a healthcare startup on a mission to make our health system more effective, accessible, and affordable to everyone.
